Adirondack Wine & Food Festival bringing 140 vendors to Lake George

The Adirondack Wine & Food Festival, which has grown to become one of the Northeast’s most celebrated wine and food events, returns to Lake George for its eighth year on Saturday, June 29, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday, June 30, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The 2024 festival will feature craft beverage producers, artisan food producers, food trucks, crafters, cooking and cocktail demonstrations, culinary competitions and live entertainment.

“This event has become a cornerstone of our summer season drawing visitors from near and far to experience the incredible culinary and craft beverage offerings of our region and beyond,” says Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB Executive Director Gina Mintzer in a press release.

The festival is held at the Charles R. Wood Festival Commons, 17 West Brook Road, Lake George. This is a family-friendly event with a Kid’s Activity Teepee tent with activities provided by The Wild Center of Tupper Lake.

This year’s expanded entertainment lineup includes solo musicians, street magic by TJ Clancy, stilt walking and aerial work from Jessica Black and a 360-degree live photo booth. Under the culinary tent, local chefs and mixologists will prepare food and drinks using ingredients supplied by Festival vendors.

New for the 2024 event will be a sushi-making class and a Barkeater Chocolate and Wine Paring Class. Two “Iron Chef”-style cooking competitions will be held on Saturday with winners facing off during Sunday’s festival.

Adirondack Brewery will be managing a Biergarten on the festival grounds where attendees will be able to purchase full glasses of Adirondack Winery wines, Adirondack Brewery beers and Mean Max Beers.

The 2024 vendor list includes 29 wineries, 20 distilleries, 9 non-alcoholic beverage producers, 5 cideries, 4 breweries, 3 meaderies, 25 artisan food vendors and more than 14 craft and specialty vendors. Tickets include a souvenir wine glass, free beverage and artisan food samples, souvenir reusable tote bag, the opportunity to purchase from vendors, purchase pickup/dropoff service, and access to all demonstrations, competitions, entertainment and children’s activities.

Designated Driver/underage tickets are available for a non-alcoholic experience. Children ages 15 and younger are free. Additional perks are offered to VIP ticket holders. Tickets may be purchased online at ADKwinefest.com/tickets/.

Tickets are available at the gate; however, organizers say that Saturday VIP tickets are nearly sold out and, in the past, all Saturday tickets have sold out before the event. Organizers suggest those seeking a more “laid-back” atmosphere attend on Sunday. A portion of every ticket sold is donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks.

Alongside the Festival Commons on West Brook Road, 17 food trucks will form Food Truck Alley. Entry to Food Truck Alley is free to the public “for those who just want a bite to eat but may not be able to or wish to enter the ticketed festival grounds,” says Festival owner Sasha Pardy. Ticket holders may leave and return to the Festival Commons throughout the event and will have access to Food Truck Alley.

Tech Valley Shuttle is providing a free shuttle service, with pickups and drop-offs every 15-20 minutes, from the parking lots at Million Dollar Beach on Beach Road and the Lake George Village Hall, 26 Old Post Road, Lake George. Visit the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival website for more parking information.
