The pandemic forced the cancelation of the 2020 and 2021 events, but the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival will be back in 2022 at the Festival Commons in Lake George on June 25 and 26. The premier event, launched in 2014, draws several thousand to Lake George from around the Northeast. Organizers expect 7,700 will attend this year.
“Two years ago, we didn’t know when we’d be able to hold this festival again,” said Festival founder Sasha Pardy in a press release. “Now, with our festival only a month away, we are 100 percent committed to bringing our guests the experience they have come to know and love over the years: Sampling the state’s best craft beverage and food products with beautiful Lake George as their backdrop!”
This is a try-before-you-buy event. Guests aged 21 and older that purchase a “tasting ticket” may sample the full variety of beverages. In addition to one- and two-day tasting tickets, VIP, designated driver, and underage tickets are available (children younger than 15 are free.) Designated drivers and underaged attendees may sample artisan foods and non-alcoholic beverages as well as have access to food trucks and all festival activities This is a family-friendly event that includes activities for children.
According to Pardy, tickets for this year’s Festival are selling quickly. The 2022 event will include more than 24 wineries, 15 distilleries, 3 breweries, 4 cideries, 3 meaderies, 10 food trucks, 25 artisan food vendors, 4 non-alcoholic beverage producers and 10 craft specialty vendors.
The 2022 Adirondack Wine & Food Festival will feature culinary demonstrations by celebrity chef Eric Hudson of Hudson’s Private Chef Services, an Iron Chef-style competition using ingredients from Festival vendors, and, new this year, live entertainment including Magician TJ Clancy, a West African Drum Circle from Rural Soul music studio, dance performances from Dynamic Dance Works, and stilt walker/aerialist Jessica Black.
One-day general admission tasting tickets are $45 for Saturday, June 25 and $40 for Sunday, June 26. Two-day tasting tickets are $75. Tasting tickets include sampling at all booths, a souvenir wine glass, a reusable eco-friendly bag, use of the Drop-Off / Pick-Up Tent and a program guide. One-day designated driver/underage tickets are $15. V.I.P. tickets include special perks. The Festival grounds are at 17 Betty Little Blvd. (West Brook Road.) Metered parking is available on surrounding streets and in nearby public and private parking lots. Saturday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
