The Adirondack Winery is marking its 15th year in business with a series of special events running from April 13 through April 23. “We are overwhelmed with the amount of support our customers, friends, family and the community have shown us over the 15 years we have been in business,” says Adirondack Winery President and Co-Owner Sasha Pardy. “It blows me away to see where we started and where we are today.”
April 17, 2008, Mike and Sasha Pardy launched Adirondack Winery, one of the first micro-wineries in the country without a vineyard on site, from a small Canada Street storefront. That first year, they produced 1,000 cases of wine. They soon had to move production to a larger space in Queensbury to meet demand, but the original tasting room across from Shepard Park continues to be a popular destination for area residents and tourists.
“This summer, we plan to have a sidewalk café open in front of our Lake George Tasting Room, complete with our famous wine slushies and wine by the glass, which we know our customers will be ecstatic about, and we’ve got bigger Lake George plans for the future, too!” says Pardy. “Lake George will always be where our customers discover us and fall in love with our wines, and we want this location to remain a top to-do list item for visitors.”
Last year, Adirondack Winery opened an expanded tasting room and production facility at the Queensbury location to make room for their current annual production of 20,000 cases of wine and to offer an expanded tasting room experience for visitors.
The Queensbury tasting room, located at 395 Big Bay Road, offers light dining with an assortment of charcuterie boards, winery tours, crafting events, trivia and live music. The new facility includes a private event space that can accommodate bridal showers, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, corporate events and even small weddings.
