The Adirondack Winery’s month-long Drink Pink fundraising campaign raised more than $20,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Adirondacks, the winery announced in a Monday press release. This is the 10th year Adirondack Winery has held the Drink Pink fundraiser, and it was the most successful thus far with funds raised exceeding the initial goal of $15,000.
“We are once again honored to be the top fundraiser for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Adirondacks,” says Adirondack Winery President and Co-Owner Sasha Pardy. “This disease has touched far too many people, and our Drink Pink fundraiser gives us an amazing opportunity to give back to our community and support this incredible organization.”
Over the past ten years, Adirondack Winery has raised more than $100,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer with its Drink Pink campaign. Making Strides is a national event organized by the American Cancer Society.
The Winery held its Drink Pink kickoff event with Making Strides at the new Adirondack Winery Queensbury Tasting Room and held Uncork and Craft wine glass candle making and wooden sign painting events.
From mid-September to the end of October, a portion of every purchase made at Adirondack Winery was donated to Making Strides. The fund-raising effort included the sale of its Drink Pink Berry Breeze, a limited-edition version of its mixed berry rosé that has a pink cap and label.
The winery also raised money with the sale of raffle tickets, wine, accessories, and prizes donated by winery partners and supporters including Wax n Wix, Sip n Canvas, The Log Jam Restaurant, The Queensbury Hotel, Creations by DM, Boardwalk Restaurant, Lake George Steamboat Company, and Holiday Inn Lake George.
The fundraiser concluded with the Adirondack Winery team participating in the local Making Strides walk in Glens Falls, which was held on Sunday, Oct. 23. Dozens of teams raised more than $60,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Adirondacks, surpassing the organization’s goal.
