Bandstand Brew Works celebrates opening with ribbon-cutting ceremony

State and local officials, business leaders, friends and family gathered Thursday afternoon to cut a ribbon at Warrensburg’s newest enterprise, Bandstand Brew Works. The brewpub, founded by cousins Darby and Adam Langworthy and their wives Laurie and Brooke, opened for business at the beginning of October as thousands of people filled Warrensburg for the World’s Largest Garage Sale. According to Brooke Langworthy, business has remained robust since that busy opening weekend. The ribbon-cutting event was coordinated by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by M&M Digital Printing.

“This is such a labor of love for us,” said co-founder Laurie Rinke Langworthy. “It started during COVID when my husband Darby and his cousin Adam decided they were going to learn how to brew beer, which turned into a master brewing class with Cornell online, which then turned into a small brewing company, and then it became a little conversation with Brooke and I to decide that we are going to open a business.”

As the Langworthys perfected their craft, they scouted out possible brewery sites. In November 2023, they closed on a parcel along Main Street in Warrensburg and began a year-long project renovating the historic 1855 barn on the property. The old barn is now the Beer Hall, a spacious dining area. They added an addition to the barn to make room for on-site brewing and a tap room with a full bar.

According to Laurie, they sought to reuse as much of the wood from the old barn as possible. Darby and Adam used their carpentry skills to make tables, benches and ledges from wood pulled from the barn. They were also able to put the original hand-hewn beams back in place. Brooke Langworthy has a background in interior design and used her skills to create an inviting environment that is airy and modern with a rustic Adirondack vibe. The brewpub also has an outdoor patio.

“When we chose the name Bandstand Brew Works, it was partially in honor of the bandstand in the center of town that honors Floyd Bennett,” says Laurie, “but it was also partially because bandstand, by definition, is a place where people gather and that’s really what we wanted this place to be, a place where people gather —Kids, adults, family, friends, out of towners, locals — everybody come and gather.”

In addition to their house-brewed craft beers, Bandstand Brew Works offers spirits by Springbrook Hollow Farm and Adirondack Winery wines. The beverage menu also includes several non-alcoholic options. Dining options include a pub menu available all day, which includes soups, salads, burgers, wings, sandwiches, wraps, tacos and a kid’s menu. The dinner menu, available after 5 p.m., features beef, chicken, fish and pasta dishes.

Warrensburg Supervisor Kevin Geraghty spoke at the ribbon cutting saying he can vouch that the food is excellent and welcomed the brewpub to town. New York State Senator Dan Stec and Warren County Clerk Carrie Black also attended the ceremony and congratulated the Langworthys on the successful launch of their business.

New York Assemblyman Matt Simpson also spoke saying he really enjoyed their beer, “It’s a great addition to the North Country. It’s going to be one of my stops — not too far from where I live in Lake George — and just remember, beer makes the world go ‘round.”

Bandstand Brew Works, 3922 Main Street, is approximately one-third of a mile north of the Floyd Bennett Memorial Bandstand in the center of Warrensburg. The brewpub is open daily 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Happy hour, offering $1 off beer and appetizers, runs Mondays through Thursdays, 3-6 p.m. The Brew Works also has a Monday evening indoor cornhole league and a Wednesday trivia night.

The Langworthys moved their brewing operation from a home brewery to their new facility on Main Street in Warrensburg.
