New Year’s Day Polar Plunge

The tradition of washing away the old year with a chilly dip into Lake George continues at Shepard Park Beach on Jan. 1, 2025. Sign up at Duffy’s Tavern, 320 Canada Street, on Dec. 31, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or New Year’s Day starting at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $20. Proceeds benefit the Springfield Shriners Hospitals and the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department. Long-sleeved Polar Plunge t-shirts are available for $15. Plungers enter the lake in waves of 400 beginning at 1 p.m. The plunge is followed by a Polar Plunge Party at Duffy’s, 2-6 p.m. with live music by Coverups.

Lights at the Lake

Walk-through holiday light displays run from Shepard Park on Canada Street, along Beach Road, and through the Festival Commons in Wood Park. The Lake George event includes free skating at the rink on Beach Road. Admission to the light displays and skating is free. Skate rentals are available for $5.

Funky Ice Fest

The Adirondack Pub & Brewery boasts the ‘grooviest” ice bar in the Adirondacks that includes ice sculptures, hand-crafted cocktails, craft beers and food specials. Free entry.

Lake George Winter Carnival
Weekends February 1 – March 2
Headquarters in Shepard ParkThe 2025 Lake George Winter Carnival opens Saturday, February 1 and has been expanded to the first weekend in March. The Winter Carnival includes races (on the ice if the Lake is frozen), cook-offs, children’s activities, bonfires, fireworks, dog talent shows, and polar plunges. The final weekend brings Lumberjack Shows.

Barrel Fest

Craft beverage producers from across the Northeast will be offering samples of barrel-aged beverages. The standard ticket includes entrance, souvenir tasting glass, beverage sampling, fireworks, music, dancing, food stations and free snacks. The festival features a multi-story bonfire to keep everyone warm.

French & Indian winter warfare reenactments combined with a sutlers fair, crafts and brew fest featuring local craft beverages. Reenactor groups from several historical periods will be on hand to discuss battle reenactment.

• 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. Reenactments of Vaudreuil’s Raid of 1757 will depict actions that took place during the six-day assault on the fort that involved more than 2000 men. 
• 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Fair and meet at the Fort William Henry Museum includes historical sutlers and crafts with demonstrations, displays, and sales 
• Local Craft Brewers, Distillers and Wineries – tastings and sales

Lake George Garden Club Plant Sale

Select from a wide variety of high-quality perennial plants dug, potted, and ready to plant from LGCGC members’ zone 4 and 5 gardens. Garden club members are happy to share planting instructions and gardening tips. All perennials are reasonably priced to fit your budget.
Proceeds from the sale are used to fund civic beautification and community service projects, donations to local charities, and camperships for youth to attend the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Camp Colby near Saranac Lake.

Community Day Block Party
Saturday, May 17
Ottawa & Montcalm Streets
This kid-friendly block party features live entertainment, family activities and an outdoor food court on Montcalm Steet. Most activities are free. St. James Episcopal Church, United Methodist Church and Caldwell Presbyterian Church will be open with arts and crafts fairs and food sales. Community Days is sponsored by the Town and Village of Lake George, Lake George Radio, several merchants and the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Memorial Day Parade
Saturday, May 24
The Lake George American Legion Post Memorial Day parade steps off from West Brook Road at 11:30 a.m. and travels to Shepard Park. The parade is followed by a service at the Veterans Memorial in Shepard Park.

Americade

The world’s largest touring bike rally returns to Lake George for 2024. The event features demos, vendors, clinics, shows and guided tours through the Adirondack region. Visit the Americade website for more information and registration. Registration opens mid-February.

Lake George Music Festival

Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Convention

The Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighter’s Association will be holding its 136^th Annual Convention in Lake George with a dress parade and Mardi Gras Parade in the Village on June 13 and 14. Check back for details.

Wine enthusiasts, craft beverage aficionados and foodies from across the Northeast and Canada visit Lake George each June for the annual Adirondack Wine & Food Festival. Rock the Dock Music Festival

Local jam bands take over the Steel Pier at the head of Lake George, home to the Lake George Steamboat Company. This music festival includes food, beverage and merchandise vendors. Lake George Community Band Festival

Community bands from across the Northeast and Canada perform at this festival hosted by the Lake George Community Band. Performances begin at noon. This is the largest band festival of its kind in the Northeast. Admission is free. Check back for the band lineup.

Summer Loving Fun Fest

This multi-day festival features non-stop live music, craft vendors, bounce houses, food trucks, and a beer and wine tent. Opening night, July 24, features the Kelly’s Angels Drone Show followed by the Lake George fireworks. All proceeds benefit Kelly’s Angels, Inc., a local organization that helps children who have been affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

Rockin’ for Ronald Festival

Alpha Win returns to Lake George with three events, Alpha Sprint, Alpha Olympic and Alpha Long Course each designed to meet different levels of training. Adirondack Nationals Car Show

The Adirondack Nationals Car Show is the premier muscle car show of the Northeast with more than 1,500 vintage autos, muscle cars and other pre-1972 vehicles. The show is headquartered at the Fort William Henry Hotel. Entered vehicles and more than 250 vendors set up on the hotel grounds and at the Festival Commons in Wood Park. A highlight of the show is the Friday and Saturday night Car Crusin’ when owners of registered vehicles drive a continuous loop through Lake George Village to a cheering crowd. Car show registration opens Feb. 1, 2025.

Adirondack 5K

This 5K course begins and ends at the Adirondack Pub & Brewery with a stretch along the Lake George shore on Beach Road. Following the race, runners can celebrate at the Pub’s beer garden with live music, lawn games, food and beverages. Check back for registration information.

World’s Largest Garage Sale

What began more than 40 years ago as a town-wide yard sale has grown to a fall celebration with food and flea market vendors, arts and crafts producers, antique dealers, and church bazaars stretching along Main Street in Warrensburg. More than 100 residential yard sales fill the town’s neighborhoods. The annual sale, organized by the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce,  attracts tens of thousands of bargain hunters each year to enjoy the festival atmosphere and fall foliage.

Wild in the Trees Music & Skate Festival

Mirth Films Wild in the Trees Festival returns to Wood Park after a one-year hiatus. The 2025 event will also be a celebration of the Lake George Skate Plaza’s 10^th anniversary. Check back closer to the date for the festival schedule.

Lake George Village Oktoberfest

Canada Street in front of Shepard Park Columbus Day Weekend in Lake George brings a non-stop festival of polka bands, Bavarian food, rides and games, merchandise vendors and a beer garden all under a giant tent in the middle of Canada Street. Admission is free.
Be sure to bring cash for food, beer and wine purchases under the tent. Some vendors outside the tent do take credit/debit cards.

Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest Charity Block Party

Free parking. This is an age 21+ event.
