Drink Pink 2019: Buy wine to support breast cancer research

The month of October is “Drink Pink” at the Adirondack Winery. This is the 7th year for the campaign, a fundraiser for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an initiative of the Adirondacks Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Throughout the month, the Adirondack Winery is hosting special wine tastings, candle making and glass painting crafting events and a raffle to raise money for Making Strides, which funds breast cancer research and provides services for breast cancer patients. The Winery hopes to raise $8,500 this year, an increase of $500 over last year’s total.

“The American Cancer Society is so grateful for the ongoing support of Adirondack Winery as a flagship sponsor for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of the Adirondacks event,” says Loretta Hackney, Community Development Manager for the American Cancer Society. “They continually raise the bar and strive to be the number one fundraising team. I have no doubt they will reach their goal of $8,500 this year.”

During the month, the Winery’s limited edition Drink Pink Berry Breeze wine will be available online and in the tasting rooms. For each bottle of the semi-sweet, berry-infused rosé sold, the winery will donate $4 to Making Strides. Additionally, when visitors to the tasting rooms purchase an Ultimate Wine Tasting for two, the Winery will donate $5. Twenty-five percent of all pink wine accessory sales during October will also go towards the 2019 Drink Pink goal.

“Breast cancer has touched so many lives right here in our community, including our customers, our employees and our friends,” says Sasha Pardy, co-owner and president of Adirondack Winery. “Every year, we look forward to growing this effort so we can provide even more funds for life-saving treatments and services to people who need it right here at home.”

Sunday, Oct. 27, winery staff, family and friends will join other fundraisers at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls for a 3k walk around Glens Falls. To join the winery team, visit the team event page.

The Adirondack Winery has tasting rooms at 285 Canada Street in Lake George Village and 4971 Lake Shore Drive in Bolton Landing. The Winery, established in 2008, presents the annual Adirondack Wine & Food Festival, which was recently honored by the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce with a Supporting Tourism Around the Region (S.T.A.R.) award.
