Tribute artists to perform in Lake George this June

Tribute artists performing as Elvis, Buddy Holly, and others will take the stage in Shepard Park Saturday, June 5, 2021, 2:30 – 7 p.m. The free show is being produced by Price Reddy Entertainment of Rochester.

A dozen performers have already committed to appearing on the lakeside stage with more expected to join, says Maureen Moore of Price Reddy. According to Moore, fans have already begun booking hotel rooms in Lake George. Moore’s husband, Elvis and Waylon Jennings tribute artist Dutch Reddy, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Moore says she has put out a call to the tribute artist community inviting performers to drop by the show and sing a song.

The idea for the event came earlier this year when the Lake George Tribute Festival announced they had been unable to renew their contract with their usual venue, the Lake George Forum, and would have to cancel the popular Elvis festival, which has been one of the first major events on the Lake George calendar for nearly 20 years. Many of the performers coming this June are veterans of the canceled Festival.

“Lake George has done so much for us over the years,” says Moore. “We wanted to do something.” There will be no admission charge, but donations will be accepted to help defray costs. Several of the tribute artists slated to appear live in the Lake George area, and others will be coming from across New York and New England.

Attendees are expected to adhere to COVID safety protocols. Performers who usually mingle with the audience will be adjusting their act to remain socially distanced on stage. Organizers will have hand sanitizer and masks available at entrance areas.

“If this is as successful as it seems it’s going to be,” says Moore, “we may be able to do a two-day show next year.”
