The Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers’ Market is holding its annual Garlic Festival on Friday, Oct. 11, from 3-6 p.m. The festival, now in its 15th year, will be held at the Warrensburg Recreation Field Pavilion on Library Avenue, a new location with more space for vendors and shoppers.
Hope Valley Farm, Nan’s Garlic Shack and Simply Garlic will be offering a variety of organic and naturally grown garlic for planting and eating. Shoppers may sample garlic recipes with a free sampler plate and Warren County CCE Master Gardeners will be on hand with information on growing garlic and using garlic in cooking.
This year’s festival will feature personal pizza with fresh garlic by Bab-a-Dew’s Wood Fired Pizza, garlic humus by Back to Zero, savory garlicky baked goods by Baked By Marlene, sourdough garlic bread by GraceFamilyFarm518, garlic and olive oil chevre by Nettle Meadow Cheese Farm; garlic salsa, garlic onion jam, garlic hot sauce, garlic spice blends, pickled garlic stuffed olives & fused olive oil by Simply Garlicand garlic infused chicken and turkey sausage by Whitefield’s Farm.
In addition to garlic-based products, more than two dozen vendors will be offering fresh produce, eggs, and cheeses, maple products, fresh poultry, craft wines and spirits, handmade soaps and lotions, crafts, jewelry, woodcrafts, handspun yarn and woven items.
Richards Library Director Shelby Burkhardt will lead a free crafts workshop for children with garlic and Halloween themes. Representatives of the New York State Department of Public Service, New York State Department of Health and the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York will offer program information and giveaways. George Parrott will be performing live music.
Shoppers can enjoy free, fresh brewed coffee and enter to win $20 in Farmers’ Market Bucks, which may be spent with one of the festival vendors. Parking is free and restrooms are available.
