Ice Castles Locals’ Night offers discount to Warren County residents

For the past several weeks, Lake George area locals have been watching with curiosity and anticipation as Ice Castles’ artisans grew, harvested and hand-placed icicles to transform the Festival Commons at Wood Park into a wonderland of ice-carved towers, tunnels, and slides. The playland of ice is all lit at night with color-changing LED lights. The wait is over. The attraction opens Sunday, January 23. Tickets are now available online.

February 2, 2022, is Locals’ Night. Ice Castles is offering residents of Warren County admission tickets at a steeply discounted price. Tickets for Ice Castles Locals’ Night will be sold on-site only, not in advance. Tickets can be purchased for $5 each between 4-9 p.m. using a credit or debit card (no cash).

To claim the discount, residents must show an ID or utility bill as proof of residency. Only one ID is required per household. Each resident may purchase up to six locals’ tickets. Some capacity restrictions will apply.

When asked about COVID-19 protocols, Melissa Smuzynski of Ice Castles Marketing and Public Relations says, “Face masks are not required but strongly encouraged. The event staff will all be wearing masks as a COVID safety precaution, but as an outdoor, open-air experience, guests are not required to wear a mask or face covering while visiting Ice Castles.”

This is the first year for Ice Castles in New York State. The Lake George attraction is one of six in the country.  Ice Castles will be open six days a week, closed Tuesdays, and will remain open through February and later, weather permitting.
