Week three of the Lake George 2018 Winter Carnival looks to be the busiest yet with the Electric City Riders taking to the ice for NYS ATV/Motorcycle A.M.A. Ice Racing Championships and 4X4 Ice Drags sponsored by Demented Obsession Motorsports and King Neptune’s Pub. Off-ice events include Saturday’s Chowder Cook-off at noon, Lake George Dogs Got Talent show at 2 p.m. and bonfire with s’mores and hot chocolate bar at 4 p.m. Fireworks shoot off over the lake at 6 p.m.
Lake George Beach Club, just South of Shepard Park, is holding a Halfway to Summer party Saturday, 4 – 9 p.m. with live music, ice bar, ice luge and ice pong. Beach attire encouraged. Best outfit wins a $100 Lake George Beach Club gift card.
The ice races and other Winter Carnival Events continue Sunday, Feb. 18. Check the Lake George Winter Carnival website for a complete listing of events and activities.
Sunday night, Michael Glabicki and Dirk Miller of Rusted Roots are bringing their Uprooted Tour to King Neptune’s Pub. The show begins at 9 p.m. No cover charge.
Note: Ice racing events are contingent on ice conditions. Electric City Riders report that heavy snow has created fissures in the ice and water is coming through in several spots. Day two of last weekend’s on-ice car races were cancelled because rain and melting snow had flooded the track. If warm temperatures persist, the ice may not be safe for racing this upcoming weekend. Check the Electric City Riders Facebook page for updates.
Michael Glabicki and Dirk Miller of Rusted Root will be performing at King Neptune's February 18.
“Man Not a Machine” is a song about the collective cellular dance that has been happening at my shows for the last few years. Something new and exciting has been happening so I wanted to write a song about it and breathe some extra life into it – like a funky steroid!”
