Lake George Chamber plans St. Patrick’s Day vendor fair

The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce and CVB has added a new event to the Lake George March calendar. On Saturday, March 17, vendors will display their wares at a St. Patrick’s Day vendors fair to be held at the Lake George Holiday Inn Resort on Canada Street. “It’ll be the perfect complement to the weekend’s events to entice visitors to stay overnight in Lake George and do some shopping at the vendor fair on Saturday between festivities,” says Chamber Executive Director Gina Mintzer in a press release.

Lake George has been a popular St. Patrick’s Day spot since the 2011 launch of Sham “Rock” the Block, an Irish celebration hosted by Duffy’s Tavern that includes Celtic music and dance, games, pints of beer, platters of corned beef and cabbage and a parade with pipe bands and floats. Many local businesses offer special deals over the Shamrock weekend.

The new event is part of the Lake George Chamber’s 365 effort to promote Lake George as a year-round destination. The Chamber notes that its members operate more than 20 restaurants, nearly 40 lodging options and two dozen attractions that remain open during the winter months.
