Lake George Farmers Market returns to Shepard Park

Locavores rejoice! The Lake George Farmers Market opened for the season this morning, June 12. The market sets up on Canada Street in front of Shepard Park each Wednesday throughout the summer. Opening day brought a wide variety of flower, herb and vegetable packs to plant along with hanging baskets. Farmers displayed an abundance of freshly harvested spring vegetables and berries.

The Lake George Farmers Market also features maple products, lavender-infused soaps and lotions, handcrafted jewelry and gift items. Those still shopping for a Father’s Day gift may want to stop by and check out the assortment of grilling spices and jerky. One vendor is selling unique chopping blocks crafted from hunks of granite.

The Market is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers may park free on Canada Street directly in front of the Market.
