Lake George Community Garden Club to hold perennial plant sale

The Lake George Community Garden Club will be holding its Annual Perennial Plant Sale on Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Shepard Park. The sale allows area gardeners to add color to their summer gardens with a wide variety of high-quality perennial plants suitable for Zone 4 and Zone 5 gardens. Plants will be potted and ready to plant.

Garden Club members will be on hand to provide planting instructions and tips for a healthy garden. All plants are reasonably priced to fit most budgets.

Proceeds from the sale will be used for the Club’s civic beautification and community service projects, which in the past have included donating flowering trees to the Village of Lake George for planting in public parks, decorating holiday wreaths for public buildings, and presenting a flowering pot to the Lake George Senior Center each spring. Funds raised will also benefit local charities and will be used to provide camperships for youth to attend the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Camp Colby near Saranac Lake.

Organizers advise gardeners to come early for the best perennial plant selection. For more information, contact Theresa Rescorl at (518)668-2374 or email tarescorl@gmail.com.
