Lake George Halloween events for kids

Halloween costumes are too much fun for just one night of trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. If you have a little Wonder Woman or Transformer in your house this Halloween, you can stretch out the spooky season at one of these Lake George kid-friendly Halloween events.

Bolton Community Trunk or Treat

Saturday, Oct. 21, 6 – 8 p.m.

Arrive in costume to trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk (car trunk, that is.)  For this annual Halloween event, businesses, organizations and individuals decorate the trunks of their vehicles and hand out candy to costumed kids. There will games, crafts and pumpkin decorating. Sit around the fire and listen to spooky tales while enjoying free refreshments. Trunk or Treat is free to attend and residents from all area communities are welcome. Trunk or Treat is held rain or shine.

Halloween Party and Pumpkin Carving Contest

Saturday, Oct. 28, carving contest at 5 p.m.; party at 6 p.m.

Bring your jack-o’-lantern for entry into the Pumpkin Carving Contest. The Halloween Party starts afterward with a costume contest, games and giveaways. Cost: $30 to rent a lane for 1.5 hours of bowling and laser tag.

Halloween Parade

Sunday, Oct. 29, 3 – 5 p.m.

The parade will step off from the gym led by the LGHS Drum Line and the Lake George Fire Department. The line of costumed children will continue around the block and end at the High School gym. The Fire Department and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will serve refreshments and hand out bags of candy after the parade.

Great Escape Fright Fest

Fright Fest at Great Escape is kid-friendly during the daylight hours with trick-or-treating, visits with costumed characters, amusement rides and games. Things get a little intense, fright-wise, after sunset and may not be suitable for the very young.
