With the flick of a switch (or two), Village employees illuminated more than 15,000 bulbs for the 22nd Annual Lite up the Village celebration in Shepard Park Saturday evening. Thousands attended the Lake George holiday lighting festivities, which included a sing-along led by Bobby Dick and Susie Q, fireworks, and a parade of fire trucks and floats decorated with holiday lights.
New for this year, the Village held an Ugly Sweater Contest.
Contestants, 21 in number, came from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey,
New York’s Capital District and the Lake George area. Kim Kendrick of Latham,
New York took first place and was awarded a $250 prize.
The Lake George holiday lights will stay lit throughout the Village during the holiday season. The colorful displays in Shepard Park will remain through February for the Lake George Winter Carnival.

What a lovely/jolly event! I love the photos.
Gillian,
You so completely capture the feeling and texture and look of the event! You work is wonderful!
We had such a great time at this event! I won the ugly sweater contest … thank you so much for the generous award and the fun! Mayor Blais and the musicians were fantastic. We’ll be back next year to enjoy again!
