Alpha Win Races has returned to Lake George this Labor Day Weekend with its series of triathlons. The 2022 Lake George Triathlon Festival features three endurance events designed to offer a “distance for everyone.” Alpha Win produces endurance events throughout the country. The organization offers multiple race distances so that athletes of all fitness and skill levels can participate.

With the air temperature in the 50s, triathletes took to the waters of Lake George from Million Dollar Beach early Saturday morning, Sept. 3, for the first leg of the Alpha 70.3 race. Following a 1.3-mile swim, the athletes mounted bikes for a 56-mile ride along the Schroon River to Brant Lake. The third leg of the race saw the athletes running a half-marathon along the Warren County Bikeway.

Sunday brings two events, the Alpha Sprint – swim 750m, bike 12.4 miles, and run 3.1 miles —and the Alpha Olympic — swim 1,500m, bike 24.8 miles, and run 6.2 miles. The Sprint will launch from Million Dollar Beach at 6:30 a.m. and the Olympic at 7:10 a.m. Sprint cyclists will pedal along the East shore of Lake George to Dunham’s Bay; the Olympic bike route heads south to Queensbury before looping back to Lake George. Both of Sunday’s events finish with a run through the Village of Lake George.
