Lake George Hike-A-Thon 2024 registration opens

Registration for the 12th Annual Lake George Land Conservancy Hike-A-Thon has Opened. Hike-a-Thon 2024 will be held on Friday, July 5. Participants may choose to join one of 21 group hikes, ranging in difficulty from beginner to challenging, or select one of three on-water events. The Conservancy also offers a virtual hike option. Virtual hikers may select their own time and place to join the event and then post pictures of their accomplishments to social media.

The group hikes are led by volunteers on lands preserved by the Conservancy. The on-water events include a Kayak/Canoe Paddle on Huddle Bay, a Stand-Up Paddleboard Paddle on Northwest Bay and a Wooden Boat Cruise-A-Thon sponsored by Love is on Lake George Cruises. On-water event participants must supply their own kayak, canoe, paddleboard or wooden boat and personal flotation devices.

Early-bird Registration runs through March 3l. General Registration will be held April 1 through April 30. The Lake George Hike-A-Thon is free to attend, although donations to support the Conservancy are welcome. Early-bird registrants are offered a free Hike-A-Thon t-shirt. The Conservancy also offers specially designed baseball caps, bucket hats and patches with the 2024 Hike-A-Thon design.

Hikers and their families are invited to attend the Hike-A-Thon after-party, which will be held at the Bolton Community Center, 56 Edgecomb Pond Road in Bolton on July 5,11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  The party features live music by the High Peaks Bluegrass Band, beer and soda donated by the Adirondack Pub and Brewery, activities, games and vendors. The Rotary Club of Glens Falls will be selling burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, tater tots, fried dough, breakfast sandwiches, and drinks.
