The MINI Takes the States rally will roll into Lake George Saturday, July 9, as part of a 9-day, 9-state tour. More than 1,000 MINI owners are participating in the rally, which will leave from Burlington, Vermont Saturday morning.
The Rally will take a break at the Lake George Festival Commons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Lake George Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau will assist MINI owners as they stop to take in a meal and enjoy the Lake George scenery.
After the Lake George pit stop, the caravan of MINIs will travel to Long Pond, Pennsylvania, Frederic, Maryland and Roanoke, Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The final two days of the journey will bring MINIs to Bristol, Tennessee and Asheville, North Carolina with the trip ending at the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Sunday, July 17 for a weekend of community activities.
This year’s rally will be the first since 2018. MINI Takes the States has been held every two summers since 2006, but the pandemic forced a hiatus. “We are thrilled to REUNITE & RALLY with our owner community, connect with old friends and make new ones,” says Caryn Grun, head of experiential marketing at MINI USA. “We know how important these events are to our owners and we have put together an epic adventure they will never forget.”
The 2018 rally attracted more than 3,600 MINI owners who traveled to Keystone, Colorado as two groups along separate routes, one starting in Orlando, Florida, and the other in Portland, Oregon. The two groups traveled through 15 cities and 14 states combined.
MINI, an independent brand of the BMW Group, operates in the United States as a unit of BMW of North America and is located in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. MINI USA Introduced the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S Hardtops in the United States in 2002 and has since expanded to offer five models.
