The iconic Southern rockers Molly Hatchet will headline the Americade Concert Series in Lake George this June, Americade organizers announced yesterday. The June 10, 2017 concert line-up also includes Commander Cody, best known for a chart-topping cover of “Hot Rod Lincoln,” and the alt-country/Americana group The Mallett Brothers Band out of Portland, Maine. The concert will be held at the Charles R. Wood Festival Commons on West Brook Road in Lake George Village. Gates open at 6 p.m. Molly Hatchet takes the stage at 9 p.m.
Americade, dubbed the world’s largest multi-brand motorcycle touring rally, will be in Lake George for its 35th year June 6 – 10. The rally features a large expo area, demonstrations, special events and organized rides through the Adirondacks and Vermont. The concert series is a relatively new addition to the rally, with the first series held in 2015 headlining Staind frontman Aaron Lewis. Last year’s concert saw a packed Festival Commons for country star Craig Morgan.
The 2017 show is themed “Bikes, Beer & BBQ.” Food vendors and a beer tent will be on site for the concert. Saratoga-based 398Group is co-partner in the event’s production. 398Group produces the American Music Festival for the Lake held each September at the Lake George Festival Commons.
For tickets, visit the Americade website. General public admission prices start at $25. Those registered for the Americade rally receive a $5 discount. The Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park is an outdoor, two-acre venue on the Southern tip of Lake George. General Admission ticket-holders may wish to bring a folding chair or blanket for seating. VIP tickets are $75 and include upfront seating, special parking and other privileges.
Registration for Americade is now open. Costs range from $10 for a one-day expo pass to $139 for a 6-day pass, which includes admission to multiple events and activities.
