Adirondack Pub & Brewery Owner John Carr announced that the Lake George 2023 Oktoberfest season was a big success. The Village of Lake George Oktoberfest, a three-day free event held Columbus Day weekend, drew an estimated 8,000 people to enjoy the Bavarian-style fair. Oktoberfest season continued with the 17th Annual Oktoberfest Charity Block Party, held at the Pub and on Sewell Street on Saturday, Oct. 14. The ticketed event raised funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks.
“We are thrilled to have raised nearly $11,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks to help support their important work serving our community’s children and families,” says Carr in a press statement. “It is heartwarming to witness the community’s generosity and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of local children. We are grateful for their support. We had record days on Friday and Sunday for the Lake George Village Oktoberfest. To see these events growing is a real testament to everybody on the staff who worked hard to get the word out.”
The 2023 Oktoberfest Charity Block Party attracted a crowd of 600, with attendees coming from as far away as Hawaii. The Block Party, in addition to serving Adirondack Brewery craft beers and cider, offered beverages from 20 area breweries, wineries and distilleries. Seven local craft and food vendors added to the festival atmosphere.
Bill Moon, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, expressed his gratitude saying, “On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks and all of the children and families we proudly serve, we wish to express our profound gratitude to the exceptional team at Adirondack Pub & Brewery. Being selected as the beneficiary several years ago was wonderful, and the opportunity to collaborate once again is a true honor. Their commitment to what we’re doing here means the world to us. They’ve helped us create a lot of opportunities for kids in our community. We’re so thankful for their partnership and even more so for their friendship.”
In 2022, the Adirondack Pub & Brewery Oktoberfest raised $10,000 for Lions Club Camp Abilities. Over the years, the Oktoberfest Charity Block Party has raised more than $125,000 for charities.
