Photos: Classics line Canada Street during Adirondack Nationals car show

Revving engines, rumbling exhaust systems, exhaust fumes and a little burnt rubber, these are the sounds and smells of car show weekend in Lake George. The annual Adirondack Nationals car show features 1,500 pre-1980 vehicles. It is pure Americana that evokes nostalgia (fleeting in the age of climate change) for a fading era.

The show, produced by Albany Rods & Kustoms Car Club, holds its Show N’ Shine on the grounds of the Fort William Henry Hotel, but the cars can be seen throughout the area as proud owners display their vehicles along the streets of Lake George. The 2021 show runs from Sept. 9 through Sept. 12.
