Photos: Lake George celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with parade and block party

Three pipe bands, a convoy of fire engines and emergency vehicles; marchers and floats from local businesses and organizations paraded up Canada Street this afternoon in the Lake George St. Patrick’s Day parade. Lower Amherst Street was closed to traffic for the Sham “Rock” the block party.

Under sunny skies, revelers raised cups of Guinness Stout at the beer garden set up in the parking lot of Duffy’s Deli. Inside the tavern, a lineup of musicians entertained with Celtic music as the folks at Duffy’s served up platters of Corned Beef and Cabbage. This is the seventh year for the St. Patrick’s Day street party, which draws several hundred to the Village of Lake George.
