St. Patrick’s Day in Lake George brings parade, vendor fair and corned beef

Everybody is a little Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and, in Lake George, Irish-themed celebrations span the weekend. As winter moves out and the ice on Lake George begins to melt, revelers will fill the local taverns and Village streets to celebrate the patron saint of The Emerald Isle. Here is a roundup of St. Patrick’s Day 2019 events in Lake George.

The Lake George St. Patrick’s Day parade steps off from West Brook Road Sunday, March 17 at noon and travels up Canada Street to Amherst.

Saturday, March 16, the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce is holding its second annual Sham “Rock” the Block Vendor Fair at the Holiday Inn, 2223 Canada Street, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The fair is free to attend an offers shoppers the opportunity to purchase goods from local vendors.

Friday through Sunday, March 15 – 17. Duffy’s Tavern is bringing back their Sham “Rock” the Block party with live music, games, activities for the kids and a pub crawl. Raise a pint indoors or outside by a fire pit.

Lake George Beach Club on Lower Montcalm Street is celebrating Friday, Saturday and Sunday with $3 Guinness and live music all weekend beginning 5 p.m. March 15. Doors open at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Visit the Lake George Beach Club website for a schedule of live performances.

Adirondack Winery is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a Pot of Gold Weekend at the 285 Canada Street tasting room. Visitors may stop in for a free sample of Shamrock Sangria and a chance to win prizes by selecting from the Pot of Gold. More than $700 in prizes will be awarded, including discount coupons, event tickets and wine. Wax ‘n’ Wix will be in the tasting room Saturday, 12 – 4 p.m. for those who wish to try their hand at candle making.
