“The Ben” 2019 charity golf tournament will be held on Friday, September 27 at Top of the World Golf Resort, 441 Lockhart Mountain Road, Lake George, New York. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. with an 11:30 a.m. Shotgun Start.
The Ben – 2019 benefits the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, a regional 501 (c) (3) non-profit that was created to honor the memory of CPL Benjamin D. Osborn of Queensbury. Ben was killed during combat operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan on June 15, 2010, while serving in the United States Army during Operation Enduring Freedom.
The tournament will have a four-man scramble format, and golfers will have the opportunity to win prizes with several contests including closest-to-the-pin, straight-line-drive and longest-drive contests. A lucky hole-in-one shot will have a contestant bringing home a new Chevy.
The entry fee is $125 per player with cart for 18 holes of golf and includes lunch at the turn and free draft beer, water and soft drinks. Guests are welcome and individuals will be paired with other players. Mulligans will be available for purchase. A reception with beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and an awards ceremony will immediately follow the tournament featuring a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and a limited live auction.
Ben’s Fund supports children with need in conjunction with 54 schools in Warren, Washington, Saratoga and Essex Counties by providing purchased goods and services including electronics, clothing, bedding, food, tutoring, school supplies, eyeglasses, transportation costs, field trip admission expenses, etc. Additionally, the Fund awards two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors from participating school districts. The Fund also donates household and personal care items to 12 local food pantries.
