Ugly Sweater Contest added to Lake George Lite up the Village celebration

The 22nd annual Lake George Lite up the Village celebration kicks off Saturday, Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. in Shepard Park. The 2019 event will feature an Ugly Sweater Contest, which will begin at 4:45 p.m. on the Shepard Park Amphitheatre stage. Festival attendees are urged to don their most garish holiday-themed sweaters for the competition. The winner will walk away with a $250 cash prize.

Lite up the Village includes music by Bobby Dick and Susie, pony rides and refreshments that include Westie’s Famous Cider Donuts. At 6 p.m., following a countdown, Village employees will throw the switches to light Shepard and Blais parks with thousands of LED colored lights.
