Warrensburgh Farmers Market to kick off with Rhubarb Festival

The Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers Market is kicking off the market season this Friday, May 29 with its 10th Annual Rhubarb Festival. Visitors will find locally grown rhubarb stalks and plants for sale along with early season produce and local products. Master Gardeners with Warren County Cooperative Extension will be on hand to share gardening advice and rhubarb recipes.

The Market is held in the heart of the Warrensburg Historic Mill District on the banks of the Schroon River. The Market park is on River Street directly across from Curtis Lumber. Beginning this weekend, the Market will be open 3 – 6 p.m. every Friday through October. Parking is free.

This year’s Rhubarb Festival is dedicated to Ruth Fruda, a Master Gardener, Warrensburgh Beautification Vice Chairperson and creator of the annual Rhubarb Festival. Shoppers will have the opportunity to win $20 in Farmers Market Bucks, which may be spent at the market.

Organizers are following the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets COVID-19 guidelines. Shoppers must wear a face covering, observe social distancing and sanitize their hands. Masks will be available at no charge.
