Women for Women In Need to hold 14th Annual WIN Golf Tournament and Auction

The Lake George Region Women for Women in Need (WIN) will be holding its annual golf tournament fundraiser and auction at Cronin’s Golf Resort in Warrensburg on Monday, June 26. The four-person scramble, with teams of men, women or mixed, will begin with a shotgun start at 11:45 a.m. The tournament is sponsored by Mario’s Restaurant, Mohawk Honda, Sysco and Trustco Bank.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. followed by an 11:15 lunch. The cost is $100 per golfer; $75 for members of Cronin’s Golf Resort. The entry fee includes carts, lunch and the awards dinner, which includes a live auction, raffles and a silent auction. For non-golfers who wish to attend the dinner and auction, the cost is $40.

This year’s tournament Hole-in-One prizes (one prize per person) includes $1,000 from Cronin’s Golf and a car donated by Mohawk Honda.

The Lake George Region Women for WIN’s mission is to help women and families in Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Essex and Albany counties. Those who are helped may be the sole support of the family, may be living alone, elderly, married or divorced. The primary criterion is need.

WIN, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, helps by providing clothing, food, financial assistance, fuel, oil and firewood. The newest WIN initiatives include providing hygiene bags for local school districts, chemo bags for Albany Med’s children’s cancer unit and blessing bags for the local homeless filled with necessities to make life more comfortable. All WIN cases are confidential. WIN’s program relies solely on donations and funds raised through events such as the annual golf tournament.
