Winter Realms offers local discount for opening weekend visits

Winter Realms, the new Lake George winter attraction at the Festival Commons in Wood Park, is celebrating its Grand Opening on Friday, Nov. 24, at 4 p.m. Residents of Warren County may purchase admission tickets at the local discount rate for visits Friday, Nov. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023. Those with a Warren County ID may purchase admission starting at $12.57 for children ages 4-11, and $17.92 for adults.

The Ice artisans of Ice Castles have created a winter wonderland of lights, snow and ice with more than one million LED lights, Christmas Trees and an ice sculpture village that showcases the Chinese Zodiac animals, with a crown piece featuring the 2024 year of the Dragon. Visitors will be able to enjoy ice skating, visits with Santa, a mystic light walk, igloos, and more.

“Kicking off our first opening in conjunction with the Thanksgiving holiday is incredibly exciting,” says Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird in a press release. “We are able to welcome Santa Claus to our attraction and offer guests a variety of amazing ice and lighting features. The residents of Warren County have always welcomed us with open arms, we wanted to give back to the community by offering discounted local prices.”

Winter Realms will be open daily, including Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The attraction has been designed to be less dependent on the weather than Ice Castles and will be open through March. Tickets are on sale at the attraction’s website, https://www.winterrealms.com/winter-realms-lake-george/.

The Grand Opening is part of the Village of Lake George’s Lite up the Village celebration. Lite up the Village features live music, a lighted fire truck parade, fireworks and illumination of thousands of holiday lights throughout the Village. The Celebration begins Saturday, Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. in Shepard Park with the lighting of the Village taking place at 6 p.m. followed by fireworks, the Parade of Holiday Lights and visits with Santa at the Lake George Firehouse.
